It's Another BUSY Month Upcoming for the CTXPHC!

Annual Zoo Donation Followed By Wine Tasting! - THIS SATURDAY!

Last year's schedule of events was such a success that we are going to do the same schedule again!

We are going to meet promptly at 2:00 on February 9th by the office at the Austin Zoo. We will then go over to the Parrot cage to take our picture with the big check and make our yearly donation to the Austin Zoo. After we can hang out at the zoo for an hour (or as long as you want to).

Those that want to do some wine tasting/drinking after, we will be heading over to The Driftwood Winery, arriving around 3:30 for a nice late afternoon of wine with phriends, over looking an amazing landscape.

After that we will have our February club dinner at the Salt Lick at 6:30.

Please be sure to RSVP on the appropriate Evite to ensure that there is plenty of room for YOU!

Last year we were able to work out after tax and tip that it was $20.00/person.

Phebruary's Phabulous Happy Hour THIRD Thursday This Month

Since Valentines Day falls on our normal happy hour date, we are going to have February's happy hour on the 3rd Thursday, February 21st at Sam' Boat. We've had several new members join in January so lets get a big showing for happy hour like we did last month!

Due to the likely cold evening weather in February, we will be inside with Buffett music piped in.

Also, Kat Malcom will be celebrating her birthday at happy hour so be sure to wish her a very happy birthday that night.

We hope you can make it! Please RSVP on the Evite so that we can ensure adequate seating for all!

CTXPHC Chili Cookoff and New Member Initiation

It's that time of year to have our annual chili cookoff and new member initiation! This year Robin will be hosting at her home in Round Rock. You are all invited to come either as a chili cookoff participant or simply a taster.

Also if you are a new member please come to be officially initiated into the club and receive your tags!!

This year we are going to let anyone who doesn't enter the contest have the opportunity to be a judge. We will have each chili pot numbered so you can vote. We will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

PLEASE INDICATE ON YOUR RESPONSE TO EVITE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN THE CONTEST OR NOT.

We will provide plastic bowls, spoons etc.

If you are not entering the contest and would like to bring a light appetizer or snack that would be appreciated. Also as always please bring your own drinks.

Last. you might want to bring a lawn chair as well.

We hope to see you all at this always fun event!!

For those that are not going to the Jerry Jeff concert, Michael and Peggy are going to have either a crawfish boil (if they can get them) or shrimp boil on Saturday, March 29th!! An Evite will be sent out in early March with further details but put this phun event on your calendar now.

Cost of registration includes admission plus:

Friday night at the hotel lounge with John Reno.
Afternoon merriment by the pool with live music.
Saturday Night with Hanna's Reef leading the crew in ye chantys!
Sunday Brunch with live music.

Proceeds benefit: Austin SafePlace, a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survival Center.

Don't Forget! Austin SafePlace Walk is Scheduled for April 12th. Even if you opt not to go to the Ball, we hope you'll provide your support to this very worthy cause by walking with the Club and our out of town guests. Yes, the Margarita Jetski will return this year. You know you want to!

We hope to have a terrific turn out for this year's walk.

Dispelling a Rumor

BuffettNews and Buffett World both have postings about a rumor that Bubba will be playing Pizza Hut Park in Dallas on April 28th this year. The rumor spreaders failed to note that the date on what they found with that info is 2007. Breathe in, breathe out. It's not time to get TOO excited about concert season just yet, unless you are going to Jazz Fest! Bubba WILL be in NOLA for that!
